Recent Lawton Evacuation

Dear Panther Families!
At approximately 1:30 today, The Sheriff’s Office and Seminole County Public Schools received multiple phone calls advising there were bombs at Seminole County’s elementary schools.  Law enforcement was on scene at these schools.  At that time we had to put our emergency procedures in place and evacuated to Oviedo High School.  For safety purposes, we can not discuss our safety plans with the public.  After we left the campus,  law enforcement searched the buildings. Investigators are working closely with the school district and are actively investigating the call source.

At this time, all SCPS Schools have been cleared by law enforcement and SCPS is working closely with them to determine the cause of this hoax.

We want to give a huge shout out to our Panthers for following directions and helping us have a safe and orderly evacuation.  We also want to thank our parents for their support and patience while we were in safety mode.  At no time were any students in danger nor any devices found. We remain committed to the safety and well-being of all of our students.

Please talk with your child and let them know that we will continue to keep all kids safe and that Lawton is a great place to be!  A special thanks to our Oviedo High School family for welcoming us and helping to keep our students safe.
