FSA TESTING SCHEDULE

Remove all materials from your desk except a No. 2 pencil”, these words will be uttered from the McIntosh red apple lips of every third, fourth, and fifth grade teacher at Lawton Elementary.  Yes, FSA begins March 3rd and runs through May 7!  “TIP, TAP, TIP, TAP”, will be the only sound heard for miles as our Panthers feverishly demonstrate their knowledge on the test.

Reading, writing, math and science, oh my!  Reading, writing, math and science, oh my!  But don’t you worry, our Panthers have been as busy as the volunteers cleaning up our LESA garden, learning many strategies to help them      perfect their understanding of the standards.  From Document Based Questions (DBQ), math lessons and small group instruction to intervention and S.O.A.R. groups, teachers and students have been preparing for this day since the beginning of school. More important than windshield wipers on a car during a Florida rainstorm, are the following things that you can do at home to help our Panthers do their best on the test:

1.  Make sure to remind your child to read the test questions carefully!-Highly recommended by teachers

2.  Make certain to get a good night’s rest.

3.  Eat a nutritional breakfast.

4.  Create a stress-free environment at home as they prepare for school.

5.  Remind your Panther that they have been practicing for months and are well prepared.

6.  Arrive to school on time.
